Bobbie Kelly Bottle Sale Recap

Following the June Meeting a group of members converged on Bobbie Kelly's house to purchase her bottle collection.  There were 10 shares purchased by the club and members.  Each "share" took its turn picking from the massive collection.  On Saturday evening following the meeting the "sets" were chosen and then the "regular" bottles were chosen.  Figurals and straights were all up for grabs allowing everyone to concentrate on the portion of the collection they were interested in. With over 4000 bottles there was plenty to chose from.  After going through quite a few rounds the sale was halted until the next morning.  The next morning bright and early the choosing started all over again.  The Sale went quickly and smoothly for everyone but Rod.  When we got to the rounds where 10 bottles were picked each turn it got kind of hectic for him since he was making 4 picks for the club and 1/2 pick for himself.  If he didn't have his skates and hockey gear on I don't know how he would have done it (the stick came in quite handy clearing the path for him).  The only other problem was a dispute between Ron and Kriss.  The two of them got into a major dispute over the very rare, very sought after Pasha bottle.  After the confrontation, a couple stitches (hope the blood can be cleaned from the carpet), and a dislocated shoulder Ron was the obvious loser and as such forced to take home the bottle.  A fabulous lunch ended the Sale and everyone left with some very nice bottles.

The bottle that caused all the fuss.
