I Started collecting in about 1979.  I accumulated about 500 in the first 3 years of collecting.  Then I became a "part time collector".  My collection ended up in storage for many years and when I started taking it out to display again I had between 800 and 900 bottles.

I currently have between 1800 and 1900 bottles and finally after years have them all on display.

I try to concentrate on  collecting Scotches (I have over 300), Vodkas (over 100), tequilas (over 100), Rums (about 75), and other Whiskies (over 200).  About 200 of my bottles are figurals with the rest being straights. I still pick up other bottles if they look interesting to me.

I know at some point I will try to specialize a little more but so far the collection hasn't gotten to that point yet. (Translation: I still have room for more)
